Making inferences is a really important part of the reading process. You are making inferences when you predict what will happen in a text based on clues you have already received....so a lot of you are already doing this quite regularly! If you do not make inferences however, you probably won't be able to fully understand what you are reading about and why things are happening....reading is like piecing together parts of a puzzle!
