My apologies for the technical issue with the Genius Hour page…I completely forgot I made it as a web page rather than a blog page and as a result it does not have the normal comment application. I know it is late getting it up there, but if you have already had a look at our Genius Hour page and had some discussion about it, we would love to hear what you think about it! So comment away!

Kid President is "AWESOME", how inspirational, sometimes it takes a child to point out these things to bring us all back down to earth!

Loving the Genius Hour concept. Holly is having the best time doing it and I can't wait to see the finished product! :)

My mum and I discussed the Genius Hour project. My partner and I are making a volcano out of cake and placing ice-cream and creamy soda inside (like a spider) so that it fizzes up like an explosion.

Sounds like a bit of fun! Learning is definately easier if it is something you are interested in..... Wish Icould have done this in Grade 6.

Thank you for your comments everyone! Genius Hour has been a hit so far. The children are still getting used to the independent learning and time management involved but you should hear the buzz in the room while they are working away! I can't wait to see what they all come up with!

The Video was very motivational and I'm sure it has encouraged Hayley to bring her ideas to life. I look forward to the final results.

I think genius hour is fun but we only get one hour each week for one term. For genius hour Toby and I are doing research on who invented Lego and we are doing a big poster on him and we are going to have a big photo of him and we are going to build his head out of Lego.

I agree Luke it would be great to have it more often, but we have so much more to do…and then we would have to change the name as well because Genius Hour wouldn't work if it was more than an hour would it:) Your project with Toby sounds really interesting. Lego is great and their are some amazing things that can be done with it….it is something so simple really (just blocks) but so amazing at the same time! Good luck with it all!
