This week the St. Patrick's students, staff and church community celebrate two special events in the Church calendar; Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday. On Shrove Tuesday students in 5/6S will be lucky enough to make some yummy pancakes (allergies accomodated), however that is not the reason we celebrate and as such we will be exploring the origins of both Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday in a little more depth. The video clip below gives a great overview of the both in only a few short minutes. Did you learn anything new about Shrove Tuesday, Ash Wednesday or Lent from watching this video clip?

Dad and I had a play around on the house area and perimeter prgram and some multiplacation games. They were pretty fun and interesting. I'll be on some nights showing Mum and Dad what I do at school so we hope that you can keep putting more and more activities on our blog.

I am glad to see that you are visiting our blog regularly Hayley! I am even more excited that you are showing your mum and dad! I think it is a great way for them to see what we are doing in class and to stay in touch. I can't wait until you each have your own blog and I can teach you some clever blogging tricks.

I've decided what I am going to give up for the next 40 days. It is desert.

Well done Hayley...I think I am with you, I am going to try really hard to give up sugar and processed foods! That is going to be very hard or me as you know that I love chocolate! I guess that rules out most desserts unless it is fresh fruit salad or something.
