Have you ever created your own for a task?

A few years ago while browsing some other class blogs I stumbled across a really cool idea for a maths activity using Google Maps. At that time I jotted it down and had full intentions of having a go at creating something similar for my class.....two years later here I am having a go at creating a 'Maths Map'. I must give credit to Mr. Mills at Berwick as his blog is where I first stumbled across this concept, though through my google searching I believe Tom Barrett is the original creator of this great idea (correct me if I am wrong). As a part of students maths sessions we often engage in computer and iPad generated activities and this week students will be working on the 'Maths Map' and answering all of the questions that appear when you click on the pins located on the map. Have you used 'Maths Maps' in your classroom before? Have you ever created your own for a task? View Mrs Sinnott's Maths Map in a larger map STUDENTS: Click on the pins to reveal the maths questions. In your books write the number that corresponds with the questions and be sure to set all of your working out, including your answers, nice and neatly. For some of the questions you will need to use the orange man and drag him over to the coloured pins so that you can get a street view and thus see a lot better and for others you will need to use the rotational tools to spin and look around to gain full vision. There are 15 questions in total and it doesn't matter what order you complete them in so long as you have the question number written clearly in your maths book. Good luck and have fun!
